about

Originally released in 1985, here is one of the earliest TPOS compilations in the digital realm.

In 1985 South Florida, we were surrounded by hostile forces. We were on the tail end of a peninsula; water on 3 sides and enemy territory on the other. So we, Broken Talent, joined forces with any and all other weirdos in Dade and Broward counties.

We took our very limited resources (i.e. cheap instruments, crummy amps, and bargain brand blank tapes) and went nuts. We created what we could when we could and where we could.

A whole bunch of talented people were able to escape from South Florida and go onto further things. Bill Orcutt, Harry Pussy, Ultrabunny, Bunnybrains, Mark Feehan, Malcolm Tent, and a host of others cut their teeth in the Broken Talent Auxiliary Corps and lived to tell the tale.

This compilation documents the high water mark of our little scene. It's noisy, weird, raw, and on more than one occasion, rocking. Hope you dig it.

about

TPOS Danbury, Connecticut

TPOS was created in 1984 because we needed a label name to put on our first record. We've now released 256 titles on our humble label and we still need to call it something, so there you go.
